My laptop model is Hp Notebook. So, I bought a new battery, but once i use it, my laptop will not turn on. so, I expect the battery is drain, then i plug in and the laptop turned on. Then, i check the battery icon and it show "98% available (plugged in, not charging)". But, when I remove the charger, my laptop turn off immediately.
Because I need to do my work for a long time, i remove the battery. After I'm done with my work.. I shutdown my laptop, install the battery again, and it does not turn on, then i plug in again, and it turn on.. BUT, the weird thing is, my battery drain from 98% to 97%. Then, i check my battery usage, but it not showing any battery drains and if it drains, what it drains for, but the result is still the same, there is no battery usage.

So, I tested the battery for two weeks now by using this method (remove the battery, install the battery, and let it for one hour, then plug in to turn on the laptop). Everytime i turn on the laptop using this method, the battery will drain for 1%. And now it hve 89% available. I dont know what is the problem..:( Please help me...

*my laptop has no waranty*
*laptop age: 2 years*

Solution
Yes. Mee to faced similar issue where it was showing "Plugged in - Not charging"

Eventually, i tried using a different adapter and plugged in..It started working for me.

So the issue is bad adapter. Not the battery or laptop.

Yes.. its OEM. not a genuine one

OEM is a genuine one, stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer, which are the companies that make it for the other brand. So whatever company makes a part for HP, they would the OEM. Some sellers like to use the term OEM when all they mean is that the part will fit in the computer, not that it's actually made for it officially. Take a look at the cell where it was made, the HP or OEM model should have Japanese cells.

Try another battery.

And a random downvote on the reply for some reason.

Is it possible AC adapter can cause a damage to the battery?

I hve this situation where I use my friend's battery laptop who have same model as my laptop.. so, my laptop can turn on when I use it.. then I try charge it with my AC adapter, and its show "plugged in, not charging", but when I use my friend's AC adapter its show "plugged in, charging"..

I assume that my AC adapter also got a problem.. can AC adapter cause a damage to the battery? because my previous battery got damage since battery icon shown "plugged in, not charging". Or is it vice versa?

Yes a bad charger can cause issues.
