Hey there,
I'm going back to university as a grad student and I'm planning to get a laptop for my studies. I'll most likely run SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, MS office, LaTeX, and Photoshop on my laptop. And I've read that Nvidia Quadro is best suited for such CAD modelling and rendering done in mobile workstations.
But the point is, I'm not a professional, I'm a student. So, do I really need a bulky workstation laptop with Nvidia Quadro or should I go with a decent lightweight laptop with Nvidia GTX which will cost a bit cheaper?
Also, I've heard that GTXs are really bad for CAD modelling. Are they really that bad?
The best option with Quadro for me is ThinkPad P51 which I feel is quite heavy for a student to carry it around. Is P51 overkill for my usage?
Any specific laptop suggestions are welcome.
