Need help hooking up a PC audio setup.

Hey guys,

I previously had a perfectly functional PC audio setup that was as such:

Event 20/20 passive monitor speakers
Cerwin Vega V-12S powered subwoofer
Lepai LP 2020A+ Class T Amplifier

It was hooked up as such:

PC into Lepai amp from green 3.5mm input on PC to 3.5mm input on amp.

RCA jacks on amp into RCA line level inputs on subwoofer.

Event speakers into speaker input binding posts on subwoofer.

Speaker out binding posts on subwoofer into speaker in binding posts on amp.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure if this was wired "correctly" but it worked fine like this for quite a long time. This morning I woke up and restarted my PC only for my amp to do nothing but output a constant, fast pulse noise through my subwoofer and speakers. I tried a bunch of finagling to no avail and isolated the issue to the amp, at which point I assumed it was dead.

I went out and bought a SMSL SA-50 amp and excitedly got it home only to realize that it lacks the same 3.5mm port that the Lepai amp had. I'm now at a loss for how to hook up my setup.

I've tried a few things, even including taking my subwoofer out of the equation, and cannot get any sound out of the amp at all. I used a male 3.5mm to female RCA adapter to run the 3.5mm from my computer into the adapter, then RCAs from my amp to the adapter, with my one of my passive speakers run directly into the amp (didn't bother with the other until checking to see if this worked) and got absolutely nothing. I'm not sure what the deal is.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. If any additional info is needed please let me know and I will reply ASAP. Thanks in advance!

The adapter you got should have worked.
I would suggest you connect your phone (or another source) to the amp input. If it works then you know the issue is the PC. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the amp.
You should have done this before you got another amp to make sure that it was broken.
First off....I don't think you needed to have this hooked up.

"Speaker out binding posts on subwoofer into speaker in binding posts on amp."

you already had this>>>

"RCA jacks on amp into RCA line level inputs on subwoofer."

so I'm not sure why you would have this

"Speaker out binding posts on subwoofer into speaker in binding posts on amp."

but regardless....

This is what goes from the PC to the amp.
