hi!

i have an Old Laptop Acer Aspire 4752 and i am planning on adding or upgrading the RAM.
the laptop has 2GB DDR3. unfortunately, i cant find a DDR3 here in our market but DDR3L is. So i am thinking is DDR3L RAM compatible with my Laptop?

Solution

Both CPU's would have the same type of memory controller. There will NOT be a difference in the type of memory used.

*Just open up the laptop to confirm. Note the following must be true:

1) unbuffered?
2) non-ECC?
3) Voltage 1.35V
4) type (SO-DIMM DDR3L 220-pin or whatever)
5) max GB per slot is... 2GB? (so 2x2GB?)
6) Frequency and CAS (i.e. 800MHz CL15)

You may have 2x1GB or 1x2GB... so you should open the laptop to see that in addition to the specs. You MAY be able...

hi Barty thanks for the reply...
my laptop is 4752 and not 4752G. mine uses intel i3 2nd Gen procesor while 4752G uses intel i5 2nd Gen processor... they are diffirent and also i saw an article that DDR3L o only works on 3rd or later gens... so im still confused

Even with the EXACT same specs there is no guarantee another 2GB stick would work.

If you go EBay you take your chances (I got ripped off with "Kombustor" memory even though the seller had good reviews) when I ordered a 2x2GB SODIMM kit.

NEW is fairly expensive too.. my dad has W10 64-bit with 2GB only and it works great as long as there's not too much open (like too many web browser tabs).

The SSD also helped, though we had 2xSATA 2.5" slots so I moved the HDD to be backup and installed W10 (previously Vista, then W8 for $40, then W10 for free) to a used 60GB SSD (for most people I recommend 120GB+).

Also, run MEMTEST86 to confirm www.memtest86.com

I'd run prior to any changes to confirm your current 2GB stick (or sticks) have no issue.

Just FYI, but when I put in the SODIMM kit I bought (whether one or two sticks) I just got BEEPING and a black screen since it didn't work.
