Hi, I have an older dell latitude e6230 with a 120 gb ssd which I purchased before understanding how the cloud works. I thought since everything was stored in the cloud that I wouldn’t need much storage on the pc but I digress. My current issue is that I am using Dropbox (which I have turned off syncing completely) and iCloud, which I have no idea how to use and my hard drive is completely full now and I’m getting alerts. Can I connect an external drive now and again to have a local copy of all of my files or do I need to upgrade the hard drive?
Tia!

By default, any cloud service (Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive) keeps a copy of the files you store in the cloud on your local system as well. There should be options that you can set telling you how it must handle storage.
In OneDrive, for example, you can tell it to download files only when you need them. I don't use either iCloud or DropBox so don't know what options they present, but I am pretty sure that there will be something similar.
