My model is a gl703 scar, i got it 3 days ago and issues kept happening with it.

I tried booting it up today, and when i press the power button, the backlight turns on, the fans start running and the keys seem to work (i can even hear sound). However the monitor remains black for some reason.

I didn't do any damage to the laptop and it's 3 days old now... can anyone help please?

Solution
Try this...

1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.

NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

If you can see fine on the external monitor, then your attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.

If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may require the motherboard be replaced.

I just bought an ASUS ROG Strix gl703vm Scar edition 17 and I am experiencing the exact same problem. It happens when the PC restarts, goes to sleep, or is just turned on. There's no apparent cause here either. Have you found a solution yet?
