I have a headset with a apple earbud style mic that is located on its cord. I have used this headset to play and voice chat for over 2000 hours and it works perfectly fine on my phone and with my macbook, but not on my pc. It has a 2in1 jack so i bought a splitter

When i connect it (front panel because my cord isnt long enough for the back), the headset and the mic both get recognized and their status is fine, yet the mic doesnt work for some reason. When i click the control button on the mic itself (volume + -) it makes a ticking noise and the bar in the "sound" application goes green, but no voice is recognized.

1| Have you made sure your audio drivers are up to date?
2| You may want to make sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date.
3| Have you tried both the front and rear I/O ports for the audio? To rule out a faulty front panel?
4| If you thought your volume would be controlled via the + and - buttons on the headset, you're mistaken. It only works on Apple devices and perhaps android devices as well.

1. Yes all my drivers are up to date
2.How would you check that?
3. Yes, doesnt work on both
4. i knew that. The mic would produce ticking noises when i press these buttons
