Hi,
I have been struggling with this issue for almost a year now but today its pushed me over the limit. My HP Pavilion G6 can not connect to the internet using its own wifi card, (which is a qualcomm Atheros AR5B93) My FN key activates Air-plane mode but doesn't reactivate my wifi and when using windows troubleshooter in the Network settings it says its a capability issue and tells me to, "turn on the wifi using the switch". Which of course doesn't work.

Last night I decided to try and use Netsh on CMD.

I used the commands
"netsh wlan stop hostednetwork"
"netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=disallow"

this briefly fixed the issue which I was very surprised to see. But of course all good things come to an end and today its back to not working.

Does anyone know whats going on here?

Thanks!

Did you check HP support site for a newer BIOS and driver for the WiFi card? Try a clean Windows setup? Another option is to get a USB WiFi card, they make some pretty small ones that would work well in a laptop.
