Hello all, I'm planning to buy the following gaming laptop and before making purchase wanted to know if I would be able to play GTA5 at max resolution.

https://zoom.com.kw/product/1/B076KVCSRN/

Specs:

7th-generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core 2.8GHz (Turbo to 3.8GHz) with discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB graphics
Slim 0.9" profile and lightweight 5.7 lbs body with 15.6" Full HD Matte Panel
128GB M.2 SSD + 1TB HDD for ideal balance of OS drive speeds and storage space, 16GB DDR4 DRAM
Red-backlit gaming keyboard with anti-ghosting technology, 1.8mm key travel distance, and N-Key Rollover

Can I run the GTA5 at max resolution with the above specs??

Thank you. :)

??
There's a difference between "max resolution" and asking "max resolution at maximum quality settings".

You absolutely cannot run GTA5 at 1920x1080 at a solid 60FPS (or even close) at max settings.

You'll still need to experiment with the game settings to balance the FPS vs QUALITY in the game.

I'm not sure how a MOBILE GTX1060 compares to a desktop version either, plus the COOLING solution will affect performance (as will any mobile power savings features which could throttle things too).

YES, this laptop should run GTA5 fine but asking about the RESOLUTION of a game only is meaningless.

GSYNC?
Apparently not otherwise I'd aim for 40 to 50FPS average... so assuming 60Hz refresh rate I'd actually force on Adaptive VSYNC then tweak the settings so you hit 60FPS roughly 90% of the time.

WHY?
For me at least if I drop below 60FPS (VSYNC ON) I get really, really bad stuttering. But VSYNC OFF gets bad screen tearing. If I force on Adaptive VSYNC I'm fine at 60FPS VSYNC ON, but if I drop below 60FPS it auto-disables VSYNC so I get some screen tearing instead of the bad stutter.

At least EXPERIMENT to see what is best:
1) start then close the game
2) NCP-> manage 3d settings-> ... "add game"-> (adaptive VSYNC) -> save
3) verify with FRAPS or Steam in-game FPS indicator that you get a locked 60FPS and if dropping below 60FPS minimal stutter but screen tearing instead

I looked around and you may be able to AVERAGE 60FPS but will definitely drop below 40FPS so it's up to you how to balance the game settings. Specifically:

VSYNC ON
VSYNC OFF
Adaptive VSYNC (auto toggles VSYNC ON vs OFF)

*I didn't mean to insult Plumboby, but to be clear it's not "way more than required" because that to me implies you get a solid 60FPS at all times at max settings, max resolution.
