I need to go from a dish box ( vip 722k DVR ) to a second tv that doesn't have HDMI. I have one HDMI output of the box to my smart TV in the living room. Do I need to get an HDMI adapter that plugs into the dish TV box that has 2 outputs in which one will be going to my smart TV in the living room. And how do I convert the other HDMI output on the adapter to go to a second tv which does not have an HDMI port on it. I have all kinds of different RCA cables to use for the second tv. I basically need to run an HDMI signal from the dish TV box output thru the coaxial cable going to my second tv that does not have an HDMI input. I know this can be done fairly easy but I just need a little feed back. A big thanx in advance

Solution
Whenever you have splits and multiple conversions there is a chance it won't work. HDMI is very touchy.
You can use an active HDMI splitter to provide 2 HDMI outputs from the DISH box. One output goes to the local TV.
Since you only have a single coax between the TVs you need HDMI + IR over coax converters.

Your coax has to be RG6 for it to work. RG59 doesn't have the bandwidth to handle HDMI.
Then at the TV you need to convert HDMI to analog video and audio. If the TV has component video audio then use that. The IR over coax will let you change channels from the remote TV.
Or just bite the bullet and get another DISH box. Now you can watch different channels...
