Hi Guys,

I have this laptop Sony VAIO VPCEB34EN

Intel core i3-370M @ 2.4GHz
8GB DDR3 1333MHz
AMD Radeon HD5470M 512 MB
WD 1TB 5400 rpm HDD

NO SSD :(

I need to know which OS version will better suit this hardware for faster operations and better battery life.

Solution
Windows 7 is fine until 2020 with security updates but even afterwards it'll still be operational. 3rd party virus and anti malware programs will still cover you.

Your 5400rpm drive is a let down. You can buy 7200rpm drives for laptops and would fair much better.

Power plans in either Win7, 8.1 and 10 are more less the same. It's the hardware power consumption itself is the difference. Newer Laptops with more efficient hardware consume less power to do the same thing or better.

Power plan options can be adjusted to your needs on any of the operating system i mentioned. For better performance, upgrade that hdd. 5400's slow speed is a pain to work with.
