I have a display that only accepts usb 3.0 input. I want to use it as wall mounted display and stream or cast to it. I can't find anything that converts HDMI to USB 3.0 (I don't think I can anyway). I see lots of HDMI/USB adapters but they seem to imply a direction i.e usb to hdmi not vice versa? Am I wrong will the signal flow in either direction? Thanks

What adapter do you have and connecting what? I have never seen an HDMI to USB adapter, USB to HDMI yes, not the other way around. And the USB to HDMI are not really adapters but are just external video cards.

Computer to TV would be USB to HDMI, what the OP was looking for was HDMI to USB. They have a display that only accepts USB input, which would be a monitor with an internal video card. So you just connect a USB cable from the computer to the display, and the display video card takes over. There is no need to use HDMI, then convert it to USB which the monitor will again convert to a video signal. It's like buying a pizza, chewing it on the way home, then trying to re-create the whole pizza from the pieces when you get home, then eating it again. A lot simpler to just take the pizza home in the box as it was made for and just eat it once.
