Looking for a way to get sound from Roku model 4200x to Bose 321 series ll. Optical cable will not work. Would hdmi to component cable work. Right now Roku is connected via hdmi to tv. Want to be able to view netflix through Bose 321. But no luck. Also using the dish hopper with sling. Anyway to connect roku to hopper but still be able to view dish. The Bose is probably out out of date.

Optical should work.
Did you turn it on in the TV menu? You may need to also turn the TV speakers off and change the audio output type,
Did you assign the optical input on the Bose?

An alternative would be to use an HDMI input selector with audio extraction. Connect all you sources to it and it to the TV via HDMI. The switch will have an audio output for the Bose.
