Acer Aspire 5732Z. I have replaced both the screen and inverter board. I’ve also updated the BIOS. When I hit fn + F6 the screen is very bright and vivid for the duration of time I’m hitting the button repeatedly. If I try fn + the right arrow button to brighten the screen nothing happens. I’ve hooked up the laptop to another monitor and changed display settings and still nothing. Any thought?

Solution
Try this...

1. Go into "Control Panel" and then "Power Options".

2. Click the "Change plan settings" link next to which ever plan you are currently using and then click "Change advance power settings".

3. In this new window click "Display" to open up the listings under it.

4. Now locate and click each of the following..."Display brightness", "Dimmed display brightness" and "Enable adaptive brightness".

5. Change each of these to the settings you wish, then click the "Apply" button and finally the "OK" button.

i had similar issue, it turned out that my screen had a light sensor that dimmed the screen wheter i wanted to or not
i was unable to adjust it with settings or anything
so i went to device manager, found the sensor and simply turned it off
now everything works fine.
