Hello, i recenty got in my hands a Lenovo G510. Client said the pc wont turn on. When i brought the pc in, i noticed that it is turning on it just wont display anything. I connected it with a tv via hdmi and it displays normally. At first i thought it was the monitor dead but then i tried turning it on without the hdmi and i got a display on the laptop's monitor. It showed only the startup screen where it says Lenovo and at the bottom of the screen i had some random white lines glitching. After the intro screen ended it didnt display anything like before. I turned it off and then on again to see if i will get the intro screen once again but nothing. I reconnected the hdmi cable on the tv and it displays normally. Now my second thought was if the gpu is about to die but then again it would happen the same when i had the tv connected as well. So what are your thoughts? Monitor about to die? Gpu about to die? Or is it something else?

There's most likely a ribbon cable that goes from the screen to the motherboard. I"m thinking that this is damaged or worn out. Or the screen it's self is failing. The rest of the laptop is probably OK, since it works on the TV consistently. You could try replacing the screen for pretty cheap. There's replacements screens on Amazon and Ebay for around $50. There's also videos showing how to replace the screen.

This is what i was thinking, i havent dissasempled the laptop yet but i did a small search for screens to replace it. This is what i was thinking as well but i thought i may take a couple opinions more before i order a new screen.
