Hi,

I'm looking to buy a laptop, mainly for gaming, so my priority is Nvidia 1060. I narrowed it down to these two HP Omen 15-ce012 1VA44EA and Dell Inspiron 15 7577 N-7577-N2-511R.

Specs for the two in models available in my country (Czech republic) are basically the same, here:

(I'm sorry for the link in to Czech site with Google translate, but I couldn't find those exact models/specs on English website)

I have had good experience with Dell, I own Inspiron 17R for close to 6 years and have been using it a lot and although its dedicated gpu died couple of months ago he still runs pretty well on the integrated card. Can I expect the same from HP?

I'm mainly leaning toward HP atm for 2 reasons:

It's cheaper here: it costs 1250 USD as oppose to Dell which costs 1350 USD + the price for second HDD (it only comes with one hard drive, which is SSD). My budget is about 1450 but of course I'd prefer the cheaper one.

It has mini display port and I already have a 144hz external monitor which would be nice to fully utilize. Dell only has a HDMI 2, which should be enough for 120hz and I guess the difference between these two is small, but still.

The reason I hesitate to buy HP is that I've read the Inspiron has excellent thermal management and I'm not sure sure the Omen does too. I've read couple of reviews that mentioned that it actually has a pretty good cooling but still is hotter on the surface than the Inspiron 15 (I'd probably use external keyboard at least half the time anyway so if it's only on the surface I wouldn't mind too much). Also as I said, I have pretty good experience with Dell's longetivity and none with HP's.

I don't care about how they look, how heavy and thin they are (unless it has effect on thermal management) or even how good is the battery.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Both are gaming both have the identical specs even the memory only difference is the HDD, i would go for Omen for the price first and for the hard drive. In my opinion you won't have heat problem with neither of them because both are meant for Gaming so both have extra colling inside.
