I have a Huawei P10 lite as a phone, and it came with earphones that had a built in microphone.
I was using it mainly on the PC (the microphone) and then suddenly it just stopped working, all you hear is background noise, but like no sound. When i place my finger on the microphone hole it starts doing weird sound :/. left panel 3.5mm jack, windows 7 ultimate edition, dell (if needed).

Try updating your operating system. But before you do that, right click the volume button in the bottom right, go to recording devices, select microphone, then go to properties, levels and check the decibles are on 20 (second bar down). I had a similar problem with my earbuds but just ended up buying a headset with 2 3.5mm jacks for the microphone and headset operations.

That did not worked, it still just do a big background noise and if i place my hand on it it just do a weird sound still. And i dont really feel comfortable updating my operating system as i love the experience with windows 7.

in that case, purchase a headset. I recommend the RIG 500, this headset comes with two connectors (headphone and microphone) and all should be ok, are you using specific communication software?

Ok, go into discord, go to user settings and scroll down, you will see a red button that says refresh microphone settings or something along them lines, then try talking through your mic

The problem is not discord, but the microphone itself, i know that because i put on the option to hear my microphone. :/
