Hello. How can I connect a subwoofer to speakers that do not have a input for it? I bought new speakers, the speakers have 2 rca inputs and the subwoofer has 1 rca input.
My previous speakers had an input labeled as "1/8" stereo/sub out", which I used to connect it but the new speakers lack this input.
If im going to need an amplifier etc please specify what specs do I need on it since I have no knowledge on amplifiers.

If your source is desktop you would connect the speakers to the green audio jack and the subwoofer to one output of the orange audio jack (the other is for a center channel).
If you only have a stereo output you would split it and connect one L/R output to the speakers and one of the other outputs to the subwoofer. Not perfect. A summing circuit to combine the 2 channels to mono would be better.

Just get an earphone to RCA adapter. They are cheap and will work well for what you need. You can get them at Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, pretty much any Audio or Music Store will sell them.

I can't grasp the idea you're suggesting. You mean a rca to 3.5mm? If so, where do I plug it, the speakers or subwoofer do not have any other than rca's.
By the way, the speakers have a remote control, if I have to hook up the subwoofer through an amp, do I lose the remote control function?
