HI, I recently bought a new Smart TV with 4K UHD resolution and when I acces TV channels the resolution on channels is only 1080i and that's the highest I can set.How to achieve the maximum resolution? Do I need another special cable or something? I already have a HDMI put into it. Thanks

No, cable tv content is 1080i you cant make it 4k with an adapter. The TV does the best it can by scaling a 1080i image on a 4k screen. If you want to see true 4k you need content that is 4k, cable tv certainly isn't.

thats most tv broadcasts dont go above 1080i. has nothing to do with your tv. your tv is already scaling the smaller picture to all the extra pixels. you are only going to get real 4k with blu ray movies or streaming content like youtube, vudu and other services that clearly state they have 4k content. some providers are getting into 4k, but you usually have to purchase the services.
