Hi, a friend gave me his laptop to install Windows 7 on it. The installation went smooth but for some reason the screen is stretched and there are 2 black bars.
Picture of how it looks: https://i.gyazo.com/45f2f114fb09935706b42cd16bdef693.jpg
When I change the resolution it doesn't remove the black bars, it just games the icons smaller. The laptop has standard VGA graphics adapter. I don't know much about laptops so I wanted to ask here what I can do about it. I need to fix it until tomorrow.
Thanks in advance.

If Device Manager in Windows is showing "Standard VGA graphics adapter", it means that only the default Microsoft basic graphics driver is installed - - you need to install the manufacturer's graphics driver from that laptop maker's website (that's assuming they have Windows 7 drivers for that model).

There may be other drivers that need installing from there as well (eg audio & network drivers) if these devices aren't working.
