Hi.

I just replaced the system board in my iBuyPower CZ 17 laptop and it won't boot, no bios or beeps. The lights at the speakers and mousepad flash when I press the power button.

What could be wrong?

If you're outside warranty period and you can access the underside of the laptop to take off the shroud, then you should see this area underneath:

The header with the black and red wire should be the connection to the CMOS battery. Disconnect it for at least 15 mins and then reconnect it and button the underside up. Try powering up after that and see if you regain functionality of your laptop.

i.e: You can get into BIOS.

I got the same result. Power is being transferred into the board. The battery charging light goes on. It's not a power issue.

I did unplug the connection to the CMOS battery and even touched the terminals with a flathead screwdriver.

Is there another cmos/bios check? Could it be a connector?

I have a similar problem with the same laptop. Did your laptop start up for 1 min and then shut off and restart immediately? I cant figure out my problem. And also there are no beeps indicating that there is no ram, when i power it on without ram...

Edit: It gets stuck in a loop of fans and lights being on for 1 min and then crashes/shuts off and 1 second later starts up again...
