Please help I dont know what to do

My laptop really started lagging and my decided to turn it off for some time but when I tried to turn it on it just said it was preparing automatic repair after a few seconds the screen turns black with nothing on it and all I can do is move my mouse. Please help I have no idea what to do. I've pressed every key on my keyboard and nothing shows up on my screen.

Which version of Windows? What's the make and model of laptop?

windows 10 and a lenovo laptop but thats not the case anymore after I waited a bit on the black screen I was able to go to some advanced options and I tried to reset my pc but it said that it couldnt reset this pc and that no changes were made. I tried everything from the internet nothing helped the command promt doesnt work other options dont work

"Reset this PC" is kind of a last ditch effort. If that didn't work, you may need to repair or reinstall Windows using a disc or USB drive.
