Without model numbers we can't check what inputs your TV has.
If the TV has a shared component - composite video input then you are fine. Check the TV manual on how to set it to composite video (yellow RCA) and where to connect it.
If the TV only has HDMI inputs then you will need an active HDMI to AV converter. A passive cable won't work.
Or get a DVD with HDMI out.
