Here's my issue (I'll put my laptop specs in the bottom) :
I bought an HP envy 17 back in 2015. Kept it stock but realized now that HDD's are slow to boot, now that I have experienced an SSD in my desktop. So I wanted to install an SSD into this laptop, transfer windows to the ssd, and boot from the ssd. The laptop originally came with a 1TB HDD but I knew that there had to be space for a second Hard Drive because it was an option. So I bought a Samsung 850 EVO 500gb Sata III SSD. I installed the SSD in the second bay and started my laptop back up and such. After formatting the drive in Disk Management the computer recognized the drive and everything works well. Before copying Windows and all of my system files I decided to double check my BIOS setting to make sure that I would be able to change the boot order to the SSD. When looking through the BIOS Boot menu the SSD doesn't appear anywhere. The original Hard Drive appears as the OS Boot Manager. Does this motherboard not allow for a Boot up process from the second hard drive bay or am I kind of screwed? Any help would be appreciated. I just want my laptop to boot from SSD and utilize the old HDD as a backup and photo/video/random file storage.
