No matter what headphones I use, the left ear stops working.

I know this isn't an issue with my headphones. They work fine with my other devices. The issue occurs with the front headphone jack on my PC. The audio will work fine for a few seconds or so, then it sputters out in the left ear and only the right ear works. Is there a way to fix the bad jack, or will I have to just buy a new case with new jacks on it?

EDIT: I blew into the jack to get rid of dust and now it works. Sorry for the dumb question.

Solution
I think thats driver issue, what are your specs? If you have realtek, go to control panel, hardware and sound, Realtek Audio manager,
After it starts up, select Default Format Tab, and you see icon like eraser select it and it will restore defaults.
Otherwise after you post specs.
