If you are going to use it as a daily driver then helllzz no. If you need it to run some other program or something else, go out, buy a second router, place it behind your exiting one, and hook it up to that. At least this way it will be on a different subnet that your normal stuff and give you a little extra protection.

Only if you use your XP box completely disconnected from the internet web or any networked services. If you have no idea how to protect your machine, your network, etc. XP will be an easy target for trouble.

XP is unsupported and only receives major exploit fixes, the last one being Jun 2017. I would not consider XP safe at all for internet access your better off looking at a Linux distro if you cant upgrade, there are quite a few that look quite similar to XP and are fairly easy to use.

Avast Free does support Windows XP3 if you meet the minimum hardware specs (we are one of the few who still do). You're getting the collective knowledge and data of our Threat Labs and 400 million+ global sensors to help protect you against malicious links, malware, etc. (https://www.avast.com/protect if you are looking for more info)

However -- that won't change the fact that the OS is no longer supported as many posters have mentioned here, and is something to keep in mind.
