Solved! Incorrect specification battery supplied with a laptop

I have been supplied with a 5400 mAh battery by the refurbished laptop seller whereas the correct battery listed for my Samsung laptop model is 4400 mAh. The laptop works fine with this battery and gives me at least 3 to 4 hours of use although it can charge maximum up to 74% only. I would like to know whether use of this incompatible battery will cause harm to my laptop.

with the larger battery it has more cells or charges to a higher voltage then the old battery. look at the full spec of the battery the mha is the size of the cells at 12v drain. if there larger then the old battery that why it only goes to 74 percent.
