Frequencies in a subout of a soundbar.

Solution
If you have to be sure connect a self powered full range speaker to the sub out. Keep the volume very low to start.
If you hear almost no output except bass then the subwoofer out is low pass filtered in the soundbar.
If you do hear substantial sound then they are sending a full range signal to the subwoofer which has the low pass filter inside the cabinet. It might be cheaper for the manufacturer that way.

But in a VIZIO SB XX51 soundbars there must be COMPLETE signal not just low frequencies, but the problem is that the subwoofer is wireless so the soundbar will not be having subout.
