outputing dolby truehd audio through usb

is it possible to output dolby trueHD through USB? if so, how?...
i tried playing the trueHD files on my newly bought SONY HT-IV300 hometheatre system.it has the dolby TRUEHD logo on it,but it says "audio format not supported"(i'm getting the video though).does this mean i need to buy a bluray player?

Not to my knowledge.
Dolby TrueHD and other lossless codecs require HDMI. Optical audio and HDMI-ARC don't support them.
The only source with Dolby TrueHD would be blueray discs or files ripped from a disc that has retained that audio. A lot of pirated files only have lossy audio because that reduces the size of the file a lot.
You would connect the BD player to the HDMI input of the HTS. That is the only way to get it.

1)through USB i'm able to play dts HD files without any error,only the trueHD files are getting that message pop-up.could you please tell me why?
2) what does it mean to have the dts-HD and trueHD logos on the AV receiver.does that mean they can play them only through BD player?
3) i played those trueHD files through my SONY KDL950C android tv through KODI tv app.they played just fine.explain why is this?

1. Don't know
2. It is possible. Might be part of the licensing agreement that Sony has to make with Dolby that is different for the DTS license.
3. The TV will accept the audio codec but not send be able to send it through the audio output. If the file has more than just Dolby TrueHD you might be listening to the compressed audio not the lossless one. Can you select an audio type? If the rip has the full menu you may be able to do that.

It seems that you have a USB drive connected directly to your HT-IV300, which processes the audio itself, and passes the picture to your TV. From the Sony web site for your HT system...

As they state that it will work for downloaded content, it seems that there should be no need for the TrueHD content to come through from a separate player over HDMI. However, I'm experiencing a similar challenge with my Sony blu-ray player, which won't play TrueHD content from a file on a connected USB drive. It passes DTS MA 7.1 sound to the amp no problem, and I suspect would work if the Dolby TrueHD content was on a disc.

So perhaps the answer is: No.
