I have a 60 in samsung monitor. No tuner or coax jack. Will a converter box work for getting cable to work

Solution
A plasma with no hdmi? I have had 2x Pana 50/55 plasmas, both had multiple hdmi inputs, component, and a coax in back, even a pc d-sub. Your Samsung must be ancient. Sorry. Since you have a need to hookup cable, your cable company should supply a coax/coax cable box.

With the channeling nowadays and the piggyback systems that cable companies use, use of a cable box has become a necessity. Cable boxes normally have a coax input and either coax or hdmi or both as output. Any thoughts of HD service for the cable will definitely require a cable box.

But to answer, there are converters that'll change coax input to hdmi/dp/vga/component outputs.
