Hello everyone, im having trouble with my ''gaming laptop'' i have an HP omen with 1 and a half year of usage, the thing is im having low FPS on games that normally would, ie. Overwatch is running at 17-21 fps, normally it would run at 80 or more fps, without doing any changes to the graphic settings, im using low, aa off, vsyn off etc, the configuration i do for every game basically. And all of the sudden the games are unplayable, the thing is when im checking the task manager, its says that overwatch, diablo 3, fallout 4 etc etc, is using the 100 of my GPU, wich normally wouldt, im sure that the Nvidia GTX965M is connected, recognized, and is the default Graphic processor for every game that i run, (instead of course the HD intel graphics). What could it be? a Virus, the Graphic chip just [watch your language]up after 1 year??, and i never did overcloacking of having heat issues, im always looking for it. Any help would be apreciated. PD: Any stress test that i run didnt pass the 4-7 FPS with the NVIDIA GTX965M, with the intel graphics it goes up to 30-40 fps. All drivers are up to date.
I have windows 10, already did a Karpesky full virus scan and it was negative.

Solution
The solution that worked for me was to revert to an older version of the NVIDIA driver. It's probably older than I needed to go, but I downloaded version 388.13, and now Overwatch runs just fine.

Interesting! I have the exact same problem with the exact same laptop. GPU2 (GTX 965M) at 100% running Overwatch, getting 16-20 FPS on the lowest settings at 1080p. My laptop is plugged in, and I just got home from work and turned my laptop on, so the GPU already overheating seems unlikely. Not only did I run a virus scan, I formatted my hard drive and did a clean install of Windows 10 just in case. Running stress tests like the OP gets me identical results.

i got the same problem with the HP Omen 965M and i7-6700HQ. Played Playerunknown Battleground with 80fps and today i only have 15 with the lowest settings. I changed my nvidia graphic settings to best power not qualitiy and the problem is still there. ... sorry :/
