Since my PC is pretty good at the moment I've been focussing on audio side of things, the only thing is I generally use my PC when people sleep, So I like to monitor my own voice, I'm pretty settled with the sound signature of my Fostex T50mk3's as my headphones since I've modded them but I want a setup where I can monitor my own voice and sufficiently power the headphones without any ground looping issues - I just ordered a chord mojo DAC and a bravo lil' tube amp.

[strike]I know this isn't an audio forum but it's most certainly an accessible forum so[/strike] someone probably knows what I want, so any suggestions?

That's a lot of amp for the money. Nice choice. :)

I'm about to order a Mayflower O2/ODAC Rev.B to compliment my Xonar Essence STX. The STX is amazing with a very clean, high power amp but I recently learned it isn't ideal for any cans under 80 Ohms impedance. My newest set is a pair of Massdrop x Fostex TH-X00s and they're only 25ohm.

Next set will be planars. The HiFiMan HE 560s were on sale for $350 last week. That terrible build quality is just legendary though. Same with the Monoprice 1060s. Audeze is still more money than I want to spend. Actually been thinking about one of the Mayflower T50 mods.

Hi Sorry for the slow reply, I kinda asked reddit, but kinda, I decided to run an audio interface and now I need an analogue amp to power the headphones I have (Fostex T50RP mk3). I think the emotiva A-100 is looking like a good headphone amp for me.

I get you, for me the Fostex T50's are great, I may try and mod them myself but beware you will have to crank the o2 a bit more. for me since im now running a focusrite the A-100 is a pure amp, arrives tomorrow. if you wanna grab a new set of cans depends what your budget is, the M1060's are great just replace the pads with ZMF eikon pads (harder to get here in the uk). I might at somepoint go balls deep and run stax but that's a long time away besides at the cost on those is nuts,

At the moment im looking mainly in closed backs since im monitoring my own voice and if you have open backs enjoy the screech of doom.

I'd say if you're looking at headphones under $500 - I'd look at The M1060's, maybe wait for the closed back version which are coming soon, others to look at tho:

Audeze Isine - In ear headphones
Shure SRH1540
Senn HD 600
Phillips Fidelio x2's

I just made a headphone/home stereo thread as a sticky here in Home Audio if you want to participate. :)

Yeah I've got HD 598s, HD 600s, HD 650s and the Fostex TH-X00s. I really want some good MidFi planars before I jump on the flagship bandwagon. My STX drives my 600s and 650s on the middle gain setting with absolutely no problems. It will easily handle T50s.

HiFiMan HE 560s retailed at $900 and are considered a sound quality upgrade over the 600/650 but the build quality is as bad or worse than the 1060s.

I want X2s but they are hard to find and expensive when they are available here in the US.
