Hooking up stereo components

Hello,

I’m trying to hook up the following stereo components and have surround sound for my 55″ flat screen TV. Theater system for audio/video purposes. I have a Kenwood 107VR audio/video receiver, Kenwood 5 CD player, Sony dual cassette player/recorder & Audio Technica automatic turntable. They’ve been in storage for 3 years. My first question is. Which speakers would you suggest for 5.1 surround sound. I’d like to spend between $200.00-300.00 for speakers & Subwoofer. My next question; I live in a very flat & rural area. The closest radio stations are 75-90 miles away. Will I need an indoor/outdoor antenna? Please advise. Thank you!!!

Hookup - All your audio components connect directly to the receiver. The turntable connects to the phono input. All the other inputs are the same so it doesn't matter if the name doesn't match the source. If your TV has a headphone or analog audio output then you can also connect that to the receiver too. If not then it probably has a digital audio output. You will need a digital to analog converter to connect to that receiver. If you have a set top box and it has analog audio out you can connect that directly to the receiver.
Speakers - You price range is somewhat limited so maybe something like this will work for you

Antenna - You will need a really good outdoor antenna at that distance for FM channels. You might consider using the internet for your radio. An Amazon Echo Dot will allow you to access a lot of music and only costs $49 (less on sale). It can connect to your receiver with a 3.5mm stereo plug to 2 RCA cable.
