my p745 won't start up

my laptop toshiba p745 will no longer start up. you push the start button and it lights up but does nothing.... it has a decent battery and takes and holds a charge. i am lost.

If you can connect it to a PC or laptop via a USB cable to retrieve your personal files and data, do trhat. Then press the VolumeUp and the Power button simaltaneously and use those buttons to scroll through the menu that shows sup and the power button to select the factory reset option.

That should sort out any software problems and if it fails to, the device is a brick.
