Unpressed keys typing in the middle of sentences

Hello,
My friend's laptop has started inserting '////' whenever he types, in random sections, such as:

Took for/ev/er t/o// en/t/er /m/y /pa/s/s/w//or//d.
Think it's /fi/x/e/////d//////////////// ooop maybe not.

It's a Medion laptop with 8gb Intel core i7 running Windows 10. It was working fine yesterday, but not today, and it was on all night. What can we do?

NOTE: If you need to type in a password to even get into Windows to do the following, make sure you attached an external keyboard first, to get past the password. Then disconnect the external keyboard and try the following...

1. Uninstall the keyboard driver.
2. Reboot the computer (without reinstalling the driver).
3. When it restarts, it should reinstall the driver on its own.

If this doesn't work, you may wish to try connecting an external keyboard and see if it works fine. If it does, then it could be the keys themselves that are the issue.

You may also want to try updating the Synaptics Driver if the above doesn't help.

My friend's laptop has started typing //////////// in between words and phrases, as if he was pressing the key. It was working fine last night but not this morning, despite the fact he left it on during the night. His keyboard is set to English UK and doesn't have any other languages, and it's the same with an external keyboard. Any idea how to fix it?

It's a medion laptop with an 8gb intel core i7, running windows 10.
