Hi

I am also having this problem - my daughter sprayed the Samsung freeview flat screen with Dettol and completely buggered it - no picture - so I have a new TV another Samsung - a curved smart TV - the volume is appallingly bad - I also have a technics surround sound cd/dvd which I have connected to the tv - I used to use an hdmi cable and connect the laptop to the tv to play tunes off youtube because the technics is ridiculously loud and basey so I would immediately get complaints after 9pm even on NYE! So I would resort to the tv as it went pretty loud but without too much base - the new tv however is rubbish volume wise - how do I connect the Samsung to the surround sound speakers on the technics. I already have a connection to play dvd's on the tv and the sound comes from the stereo. Ughhh. Sorry if this is long winded X

Solution
Without model numbers we can't check what connections you have available.
If your TV has a headphone jack that can connect to any audio system.
If your TV has digital audio out (usually optical) then use that if the Technics has digital inputs. If it doesn't you will need a digital to analog converter to connect them. Check the TV manual on how to use the digital output.
This connections should work for any sources connected to the TV so you may be able to simplify your wiring.
