Using PC as a Home Theatre Component

I'm like to connect my computer to my 65-inch 4K UHD HDR Smart LED TV (LG 65UH6550) to provide access to my home network media. Is there anything I need to consider as far as video card needs, RAM etc to ensure that I get reliable performance in online streaming and network playback (especially 4k)?

As an extra (I'm sorry, not graphics related), what sound option should I consider if looking to connect my computer to my home theatre audio system to optimize my listening performace in the different surround options etc? I assume a sound card would be needed.

Solution
State the system configuration, because this is vital.

It depends heavily on the processor capability, and the available inputs/outputs of the motherboard.
If you have a quad core processor, and a decent media-ready board, you can do it.
But if you have a older slower processor and board:
no matter how you upgrade it, it's not going to work that great.
(it's not worth upgrading an old system)
For example: P4 processor is basically worthless for audio video home theater...so don't waste your time and money upgrading it.

Thank you nicolatesla ...

My current system, if I were to use it ...

* Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.00GHz, Skylake 14nm Technology
* Gigabyte Technology Z170XP-SLI-CF(U3E1) MB
* 16.0 GB Dual Channel RAM @ 1066MHz (15-15-15-36)
* 3071MB Nvidia GeForce GTX660Ti GPU

But, I am more inclined to look for, or build something from the bootom up exclusive to this task. What would be the minimum recommended components in a dedicated box?

This is NOT 4k, though. Don't have a 4k screen.
For that, the only thing you might need is a better GPU.

Soundcard? Not really needed.
Mine goes HDMI to the Denon, and then up to the TV.

Thanks for offering up your advice. In post #3, I laid out my specs. In one's professional opinion, this should be adequate for driving 4k on a 65" UHD HDR Smart LED TV?
