Do I have to register a new account every 30 days to continue using the free option, if this is true then that's kind of annoying.

Because they want you to pay for it.
Not every piece of software is "free".

The 30 day trial is for you to see if you like it. Also, paying for it almost certainly unlocks other features.

OJDylan -- are you using the latest available version of Avast Free? The newest versions no longer require you to register (although you can open a My Avast account and register if you like). Older versions of Avast Free will keep working after they have "expired." See here: https://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus

While you will see notifications in the Free version about upgrades to the product -- it's how we can support a Free option -- you can continue using Free without having to register every 30 days.

If you're having any issues with the latest version, please let us know.

Hi!

I have few concerns.
1. I installed avast free normal, without customize. Are there, in custom, some options if i can be charged to pay for if i didn't unchecked? I just go with the installation, without checking or unchecking anything. I think that if it's free, it's free at all.
2. Is it ok to show me that after 30 days my licence has expired, although is new version? I know that renew itself, but still shows me, is it ok?
3. I made an account on avast just to comment on their forum, cause i had to, if i wanted to post. Is it for free that account?

Thanks a lot for your answers!

Hi Chloe! Happy to help.

1. You will not be charged for anything you don't want to be charged for. If you performed a standard installation, you'll see icons in the UI for additional features that may be available to you, some of which offer trials as well -- but you will not be charged unless you place an order. Free trials do require payment information, but you can cancel before the trial is up of course!

2. Yes, this is OK. There is no need to register the free version any longer. Just make sure you are applying the latest updates :) See here: https://www.avast.com/en-us/registration-free-antivirus

3. Yes, it is free for you to create an account on our forums and post, they are there for our customers to discuss our products!

I hope this helps and thanks again for your support.

Thanks a lot!

Didn't place any order, neither gave any payment details at all. In this case, I think I cannot be charged to pay anything!

Thanks!

Hi Chloe, you won't be charged for any Avast subscriptions if you didn't sign up, enter your payment info, and go through the process :) You can continue using Avast Free for as long as you like!
