I'm aware that the 1070's 4k performance isn't steller but a lot of the laptops in my budget range have them. Strangely, not many laptops seems to have 1440p displays, which is the "ideal" resolution for a 1070. Another thing I've noticed is several 1080p displays with g-sync and a few with 120hz or 144hz refresh rates. Most of these displays are 15.6" and some are 17.3". My question is the following, is it better to get the largest 4k display running at 60hz and lowering the resolution to 1440p or getting the largest 1080p display with the highest resolution? Does size even matter in this case, are 15.6" displays "better" than 17.3" displays? Or would it simply be a better idea to get a high refresh rate 1080p display, irrespective of the size, and get a better external display to use at home?
