I have a Roku 4D tv connected to an HD Direct TV box. The sound from the Durect TV box cuts out. Using apps (Netflix, Hulu etc

Solution
Try a different HDMI input and HDMI cable for the DTV box.
Try changing the audio output type in the DTV box.
Call Direct TV. They have had some audio drop out problems that may be solvable by a firmware upgrade.
If you have a problem with the audio on apps then that would only be in the TV or your network not the DTV box.
