can i play cool games on my hp pavilion with this followinng specs?

Hello tom's hardware community, i am new to the gaming world so i'm having a hard time solving this problem,i just pray you guys can help me out. I have a laptop with the following specs:

hp pavilion dv5

processor- 2GHz intel core 2 duo p7350

Memory Max- Up to 8 GB

Video Graphics-NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS

Video Memory- Up to 1535 MB (256 MB dedicated)

Hard Drive- 250 GB (5400)

Display-15.4” WXGA High Definition BrightView Widescreen (1280 x 800)

So i don't know if i can play cool games like call of duty and others with it.

I will be glad if you help me out thank you

Unfortunately you can play only old titles of Call of Duty and games older than 2004 - 2005, the video card does not help you that much neither the CPU.

Just as stated above, you can probably play older titles. Newers will likely be unplayable.

Nevertheless, you can try them out. Lower the resolution and settings like details, shadows, post-processing, etc... to Very Low and hope for the best, but be aware that your laptop is far from a gaming machine and you'll probably face some issues here and there.

Steam, for example, give you refunds. Buy the game, try it, if it do not run as you'd like, refund it.

Your 9200gs is barely enough for webbrowsing nowadays let alone playing new games old 2004 and before games can be playable in some way but don't excpect good results in those too.
