I was hoping to upgrade my laptop's ram but I am not a tech savy so I was hoping if you guys could tell me what I need to buy. My laptop is an asus model X550LD. It has a system type 64 bit and a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz 2.40 GHz.

RAM capacity in your ASUS is capped at 4GBs and only has 1 slot. Open the Settings app and select System. In the menu to the left click About and check how much RAM you have now. If it says 4GB you already have the max amount available.

If it says 2GB you can buy a 4GB module, just make sure it conforms to these specifications (under Memory):
