How to fix line on my screen laptop

I know of no way to 'fix' a line through the display. It sounds like you either, 1. have a loose cable that needs disconnecting and then reconnecting (on both ends), 2. the cable needs replacing, or 3. the display needs replacing.

I picked my Acer laptop up, held the screen, one hand on each side, wiggled it a bit, and the line disappeared. So guess there is something not quite tight enough inside. But it hasn't returned.
