I have an LGC50 laptop. My laptop won't turn on after I inserted USB on it. It shut down immediately. When I plugged in the charger, the power indicator blinks but the monitor won't turn on. It's black like shut down. Is there anything I can do?

Solution
Try this...

1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.

NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

If you can see fine on the external monitor, then your attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.

If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may require the motherboard be replaced.

Hello, I have the same problem, built in display shows nothing not even backlight and hdmi port just shows "no signal". (did not test VGA port as I couldn't find any vga cables or adapters around.)

OS boots up normally, as the sounds of Windows booting are proceeding normally.

The laptop is an old Dell studio 14, with an ATI 512MB dedicated GPU.

Any other tests that would help to make sure it is the GPU?

Thanks in Advance.
