So I recently got a new headset: Asus Strix 2.0, it's working properly but it's mic doesn't seem to be working. It is plugged into the motherboard. I know that the mic has no problem so it has to do with the PC. The motherboard is an old Asus one. Please help me.

Solution
If the microphone's 3.5 mm plug did not work directly with the Motherboard's 3.5 mm audio port then my thought is that the motherboard's port is the problem.

By using the plug to USB adapter you bypassed the motherboard's port.

However, do take a closer look at all of the recording devices and their respective properties by right clicking the small speaker icon usually in the lower right screen corner. Go through all of the windows, tabs, and properties.
So the headset and mic do work correctly on another computer - correct?

Do other microphones (standalone or on a headset) work with your motherboard?

Right click the small speaker icon usually found in the lower right screen corner.

Select "Recording devices" and check all of the available windows and tab settings/properties.

Failing that: Have you updated the current audio drivers for your motherboard's audio card?

Yeah, I checked and my mic works properly on my laptop. I somehow got it to work on my pc too, but it changed my voice, it sounded deeper and slower, I tried it with a Jack to usb adapter and it worked but since it wasnt mine I would have to buy one.My motherboard wokrs with other mics.

I don t think it has to do with the motherboard (it really could, I am no expert), because it seemed to work just fine with other mics in the same port. As I said my mic works but i think it s a bit changed. Thanks for the help anyway, I guess others will have to deal with my voice.
