Hello

I am trying to buy a laptop for my girlfriend for christmas but i am dealing with a budget of $400-$500.

She would be using it for mostly your standard social media, video and photo editing, and music. I know shes gonna need a good amount of storage space for her music, videos, and photos.

Is a touch screen laptop the way to go now? They seem pretty cool but i think the good ones are out of my range. I love the laptops where you can turn the screen 360 degrees but it seems like they break easy.

Any input would be great. Obviously need to get this laptop within the next couple of days so i can have it by christmas :)

Thanks in advance!

I would take better specs over touch screen.
If you can stretch to $500 to $600 you can find 15" laptops with full HD 1080p screens which she will appreciate if she is doing graphics and video.
Most of these will come with drive in the 750Gb to 1TB range so storage should be good.

You may even get lucky and find a deal under $500.

I shopped around a bit and Walmart is selling Acer Aspires for really cheap. They even come with a full 1080p screen, but it probably is not of the best quality.

I5 version for $449 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Acer-Aspire-5-A515-51-563W-15-6-Full-HD-1920-x-1080-7th-Gen-Intel-Core-i5-7200U-8GB-DDR4-1TB-HDD-Windows-10-Home/352461087

I7 version for $499 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Acer-Aspire-E5-575-72N3-15-6-Full-HD-7th-Gen-Intel-Core-i7-7500U-8GB-DDR4-1TB-HDD-Windows-10-Home/568834734?action=product_interest&action_type=title&beacon_version=1.0.2&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&client_guid=6ab805b1-cec9-478e-38dd-e78f728eebc6&config_id=106&customer_id_enc&findingMethod=p13n&guid=6ab805b1-cec9-478e-38dd-e78f728eebc6&item_id=568834734&parent_anchor_item_id=352461087&parent_item_id=352461087&placement_id=irs-106-t1&reporter=recommendations&source=new_site&strategy=PWVUB&visitor_id=V6btOXWBh1YfDZapf2f7dw

The laptop may feel a little slow as well because it has a 5400rpm 1 TB HDD, but it is the trade you will have to make for a large capacity hard drive.

If you are looking for a laptop with a CD\DVD drive then there is the HP Pavilion. https://www.costco.com/HP-Pavilion-15-cc123cl-Touchscreen-Laptop---Intel-Core-i5.product.100377697.html

Costco is selling it at $499 with a touchscreen and 12GB of RAM. Strangely Costco says the RAM is DDR3L, but I punched in the model number into HP's site and it says it is DDR4. This laptop will also have a 5400 RPM 1TB HDD like the Acer, but it will only have a 1366x768 display.
