My laptop screen has been completely destroyed for a few months now. I use a Dell Inspiron 17R that I got a few years ago. I never felt like spending a lot of money on a new laptop so I've always just used this one. It's been dropped several times so the fans are messed up and the screen is completely busted. It's been really slow lately so I replaced the hard drive but I need to install an OS to it. I put a fresh install of Windows 10 on a USB and tried to boot it from that, but it only displays on the laptop monitor. I've always just displayed it to a monitor. I think there's a setting in the BIOS that makes it always display to a monitor but I can't configure it as the BIOS only shows on the laptop. Nobody I know has an extra laptop I can use to install Windows 10 on to the new hard drive. Is there any way I can get this to work? I've tried going back to the old hard drive to configure the BIOS but it got corrupted so it won't even boot.
Edit: I tried to remove the screen so that it would automatically connect to my monitor, but it just beeps and doesn't do anything
