What is this error? I've never need this error before in my life. I know what a HDD or add password is but it can only be set by going into the BIOS, in which she wouldn't know how. My guess is that it's a program that was downloaded not allowing me to boot into safe mode or BIOS. Also the error popup doesn't look like a bios error message. You'll see what I mean.

If these don't help, I would definitely call Toshiba customer support and ask for help on the issue- even if the laptop is out of warranty, the manufacturer may be able to help.

Hmm, that definitely doesn't look like any BIOS message I've ever seen. Then again, UEFI does support much higher graphics modes than true BIOS ever did. So it's possible that the manufacturer splurged for a relatively graphically intense HDD password screen. I.e., not merely black and white.

I'd contact the manufacturer and ask them whether this is what the HDD password screen is supposed to look like. Without knowing your laptop model, it's hard to know whether this is fake or not.
