Cant find desktop PC with same specs as laptop

The wife wanted a gaming computer for Christmas. I ordered a Lenovo Y720 I7-7700HQ processor, 8GB memory, 1TB 5400 RPM + 128GB SSD, Nvidia 1060 6GB for $1006 taxes and shipped. Now she has hinted that she wants a desktop PC [strike]in which[/strike] but I cannot find one with similar specs for the same or lower price. Whats going on here? Maybe my searching skills are lacking, but a desktop PC with the same specs is more than this laptop. Any help or advice?

Hmmm.. interesting we've come to this point, as it's always been the other way around. Maybe you just got a really good deal on that laptop.

8th-gen Intel is out and the six-core i5-8600K is on par with the 7th-gen quad-core i7-7700K.
