Hello, I am trying to find a software. And for that, I need your help because I don't know its name. Sometimes when I download some software from the internet these also download other software and install it in the background without informing me. Like a few days ago, I installed a software and that software installed Avast Antivirus. Probably they let me choose if I want to install it along with that software. Maybe I didn't notice and just click next.

Now what I need is, A software that will let me know that there is this software trying to be installed in the background. And ask my permission if I want to let it install. So is there any tools or software like that?

Agree: the overall best protection is, as has been stated by USAFRet, is to "go through each step and READ what it is doing".

Question: Windows 10?

There are a number of notification options you can set up or otherwise establish.

Use "WIN" + "I" to access Windows Settings.

Then look at "Apps" > Apps and features > Installing apps. There is a warning notice that can be set there with respect to apps from outside of the windows store.

Also via "System" you can select "Notifications and actions".

Many notifications can be set (toggled on or off) therein.

Still likely that some unwanted apps will get through and be installed.

Lots of trickery going on.... (Especially with respect to third party sites offering drivers and free...

Not really.
You just have to be careful when you install something. Don't just accept the defaults, but go through each step and READ what it is doing.

For the applications it supports, ninite.com may be as close as you'll get.
It installs the things you select, automatically deselecting any additional bloatware.

Watch out for wording such as "custom installation (Recommended)". The manufacturer gives you a choice or two and then proceeds with the other installation and configuration changes the manufacturer wants to install. Scroll the installation screen box(es) to the end.
